Sludge Plant BIM model

These screenshots are of the BIM model of a 22,000 m3/day waste water treatment plant. The purpose of this plant is to recover and recycle the waste water from the 550,000 m3/day main water treatment plant. This main water treatment plant is currently in operation. Currently, whole of this volume dumps back to the river.

Once this sludge plant is up and running, this waste water suspended solids level will be reduced to 50 mg/l which will then be pumped back to main production process. Once completed this will be a giant step taken towards the water conservation.

Remaining sludge will then be mixed with polymer to make denser and thicker sludge. Then this thickened sludge will be sent through a centrifuge decanter and the sludge cake will be prepared for dumping.

P&M Engineering was responsible for the mechanical and electrical and control design of the whole sludge plant. All the installation drawings are prepared by the P&M engineering and issued ready for construction drawings once the client officially approve the drawings.

Sri Lanka's National Water Supply authority is the owner of the plant.
