SCI Decanter Centrifuges

Shanghai Centrifuge Institute Co., Ltd. (SCI) was established in 1958 and is now a member of the Shanghai Electric Group. Formerly known as the 651 Institute, SCI was originally engaged in the research and manufacturing of ultra-high-speed centrifuges for national defense applications.

Today, SCI is recognized as a leading centrifuge manufacturer both domestically and internationally. With decades of experience and specialized expertise in centrifuge technology, SCI delivers reliable solutions, advanced separation technologies, high-quality equipment, and dedicated services to customers across a wide range of industries—including municipal sewage, industrial wastewater, sludge treatment, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and food processing.

While SCI offers a wide range of centrifuge models for various applications, the LWN and LW series are among the most widely used in municipal water and wastewater treatment projects.

LWN Series Centrifuges for Sludge Thickening: The LWN Series centrifuges are widely used for sludge thickening in municipal wastewater treatment plants and waterworks. They are designed to concentrate sludge with a feed solids content of 0.3–1.5% to an output concentration of 3–8%. This significantly reduces the load and operational cost of downstream sludge dewatering processes.

LW Series Centrifuges for Sludge Dewatering: LW Series decanter centrifuges are designed for continuous separation of fine solids from liquids. They are versatile systems that can be used for dewatering, clarification, thickening, and particle size classification. These centrifuges are extensively applied in municipal water treatment, industrial wastewater, landfill leachate, food waste processing, livestock farm effluent, construction slurry, tailings treatment, fly ash washing, and other related fields—ensuring effective sludge reduction and water recovery.
